Here it is! Our first shot at getting ranked for the MultiGP Series & Global Championships later this year. Please read the long description and itinerary as this event will have a handful of nuances due to COVID-19 that will be different from in the past.
This race will be located on the Heart of America FPV home field. Our intention was to host this in one of our parks but apparently they have become fascist and are allowing no events of any kind no matter the precautions taken. (as of posting this race on May 1st, our county has 1 active case of COVID-19). In my opinion, this track is less affected by our tress than the track last year but the last gate is very close to the race cabin / flight line. We will be using nets to protect the pilots from a stray quad. On this track, the most affected section is the corkscrew section, if you fly wide loops, you could easily hit a tree limb but a reasonable flight path is not affected.
We will run this event from 9am until it's too dark to fly so around 12 hours of flying total if necessary. We will use modified "tablet" system to que up heats. There will not be assigned heats. We will be putting up exactly 3 pilots at a time and have a dry erase board where you can write your name in a an upcoming open slot. If you will not make your slot, it is your responsibility to tell race control so the heat does not count against you. Dry erase markers and hand sanitizer will be privided but you are welcome to bring your own. You will get 10 total qualifying heats. Your first 2 heats of the day can be designated as practice runs or qualifying runs but you MUST tell race control before the race begins.
