LiveTime Integration Partnership

MultiGP Announces Integration Partnership with LiveTime Scoring

Racing is all about data: lap times, heat times, leaderboard standings, and more. In drone racing it is just as crucial. This important information must not only be collected, but it must also be collated, formed into an easily understood list, quickly processed to provide real-time results, and archived for future usage. As drone racing becomes more established and professional, a system that is intuitive, easy to setup, and has strong technical support will be one of the cornerstones of the sport. LiveTime Scoring is that system.

MultiGP is proud to announce that LiveTime Scoring is now an integration partner who will be working closely with us to assist chapter organizers in race data collection, live event streaming, and real-time race scoring. This will allow MultiGP chapter organizers, and MultiGP pilots, to be able to easily record, track, score, and broadcast drone racing events. The people behind LiveTime have over 15 years of radio controlled racing event experience, and are looking forward to working with MultiGP to bring that knowledge to drone racing.

MultiGP is the largest professional drone racing league in the world. In 2016 MultiGP completed over 3,500 race events and in 2017 are running an average of more than 100 race events every week. As drone racing becomes more established and professional, a system that is intuitive, easy to setup, and has strong technical support will be one of the cornerstones of the sport. LiveTime has logged over 500,000 race events that have been live streamed, either by the individual race organizers or with an on-site LiveRaceMedia (LiveRC) crew to capture the action. The LiveTime team has covered race events all over the world since 2014.

With a history of live streaming events that goes back to 2005, Brandon Rohde and Cory Kroll have been broadcasting radio controlled race events to the world. They started LiveTime in 2013, which officially launched Thanksgiving of 2014, as a company that provides real-time scoring and live streaming capabilities for radio controlled car racing. Since then LiveTime has logged over 500,000 race events that have been live streamed, either by the individual race organizers or with an on-site LiveRaceMedia (LiveRC) crew to capture the action. With the recent rise of drone sports, Brandon and Cory have been cross-applying their experience in the radio controlled car racing world to a system that will benefit the MultiGP drone racing league. “LiveTime is excited about being able to make a more cohesive presentation to the pilots that are there [at an event], the spectators that are there, and also for a lot of people that are tuning in online to watch it live.” said Cory. “LiveTime’s approach to this integration is to allow for a login [by the pilot or organizer], and let the software do all the work.”

Some of the many benefits that LiveTime will be bringing to MultiGP include:

  • Allows pilots the flexibility to run exciting formats that challenge their skills and entertain spectators
  • Delivers real-time racing information so pilots and spectators can keep up with what is going on, and promote the pilots and teams at the event
  • Provides clubs with easy to use, turn-key systems which allows them to focus on getting the maximum amount of flight time for their clubs (including video feeds, overlays, race stats, etc.) with customer support
  • Provides full-time staff so if there is a problem, it can get resolved quickly so they can get back to flying
  • Races that are offline can be captured and uploaded later so that all results can count towards MultiGP ranking systems
  • Provides Race Video Archive systems so pilots can find, view, and analyze their flying and get better over time
  • Provides a free tier of tools and features any club can use, even the newest of clubs
  • Connects to any hardware decoder system, allowing pilots and chapters to use the equipment they’ve already made investments in

LiveTime is ready to assist MultiGP chapters of any size to record and broadcast their race events, and they are happy to answer any questions they might have. “Call us, we have a program that can assist you.” said Brandon. “We are a one stop shop; hardware wise, computer wise, camera wise. We have all the top systems: MyLaps, I-Lap, TrackMate, TBS Event Tracker, ImmersionRC, and more.” LiveTime is also forward thinking, working with innovators that are developing new systems that will advance the sport further. Even if a MultiGP chapter has never used these systems, LiveTime can work with the chapter organizers and advise them on how to get started.

Both Brandon and Cory wanted to extend a sincere thank you to Shannon Broussard, and Todd Wahl, for their effort in making this integration partnership happen. “Shannon’s efforts over the last several months, and Todd taking time to talk with us is very much appreciated.” said Brandon. “We look forward to growing with MultiGP, and drone racing, as the sport moves forward.”
